“It was Fifty Years Ago Today…â€
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band 50th Anniversary Concert
featuring All You Need Is The Beatles
Acclaimed tribute band All You Need Is The Beatles celebrate fifty years to the day since the release of The Beatles’ seminal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time. This fab two hour show will also feature many of The Beatles’ best loved songs from throughout their career guaranteed to have the audience singing and dancing along from start to finish!
Released on 1 June 1967, Sgt. Pepper was an immediate commercial and critical success, spending 27 weeks at the top of the albums chart in the UK. Originally conceived as a record about their childhoods, it evolved into a quasi-concept album featuring an Edwardian-era military band. McCartney envisaged that the record, and this fantasy band, would take the place of The Beatles on the road after they gave up touring in 1966. “Now our performance is that record,†McCartney said at the time. Writing in the Oxford Encyclopedia of British Literature, Professor Kevin J. Dettmar described it as “the most important and influential rock and roll album ever recorded.â€
All You Need Is The Beatles are based in Wiltshire and have been performing all over the UK and Europe since 2009. Utilising authentic instruments and costumes, the band has appeared onstage with Robbie Williams’ songwriting partner Guy Chambers and performed at The Cavern Club in Liverpool. They have been faithfully recreating live versions of all The Beatles’ albums and are delighted to present this new show focussing on the band’s most celebrated work.
